Home Visits

Doctor's bagIf you are too ill to attend the practice and feel you may need a home visit please telephone before 10:30 am

Each request for a home visit will be triaged by the doctor on duty. The doctor will telephone you between 13:00 and 14:00 to ascertain the nature of your illness and discuss whether a home visit is needed. The doctor may, after discussion with you, decide a home visit is not necessary on this occasion and may issue a prescription for medication and ask that you come to the practice to be seen once your symptoms have eased.

If it is possible to come to the practice we can get the doctor to see you quickly and allocate an isolated room if your condition may be considered contagious.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
