At West Herts Medical Centre we are able to draw on a host of expertise and support from within Herts Urgent Care. Amongst the services we benefit from is access to a wide selection of doctors who are all vetted and approved through Herts Urgent Care's clinical recruitment team.
Herts Urgent Care has many years of providing excellent healthcare to residents of Hertfordshire through the Out of Hours service and more recently through the NHS 111 service. By having local doctors working for us we can shape the care we deliver for people in Hertfordshire and beyond.
Doctors working for West Herts Medical Centre have gone through a lengthy induction and validation process in order for them to work for us. A lot of our doctors also work in the Out of Hours Service as well as working in their own practices. This means that they have a wealth of local knowledge and understanding of local services.
All non-clinical staff are expected to complete mandatory training in many areas such as safeguarding, infection control, confidentiality and their training is reviewed each year to ensure it is up to date.
|Nina Hannagan (f)|
Nina Hannagan has been with the practice for three years and was a practice manager at another local practice. She is passionate about healthcare and making sure the patient is always at the centre of excellent care.
Nina is responsible for the day to day management, administration, finance, general organisation and the development of the practice. She can be contacted with any non-medical enquiries, problems and suggestions you may have with regard to the practice.
There is a full supporting staff of receptionists and administrative staff most working on a part-time, shift basis to allow the surgery to be open into the evening for your convenience. These are the people who will welcome you to the practice, make your appointments, answer your general enquiries, organise your repeat prescription and assist clerically in any referrals that may be necessary. The team ensures that each surgery session operates smoothly and efficiently.
They assist the Practice Manager in ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the practice, including maintaining efficient filing systems, dealing with correspondence and organising clinics.
Our receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GP's and nurses.
